The Bachelor’s Degree in Midwifery qualifies graduates to practice as licensed Midwives and lasts three years.

Learning Objectives and Career Opportunities

Graduates in Midwifery, within the scope of their competencies, are able to:

  • Participate in health and sexual education interventions both within the family and the community; in psychoprophylactic preparation for childbirth; in preparation for and assistance with gynecological procedures; in the prevention and diagnosis of female genital tract cancers; and in maternal and neonatal care programs;

  • Manage, in accordance with professional ethics and as members of the healthcare team, the care interventions within their competence;

  • Identify potentially pathological situations requiring medical intervention and, when necessary, perform related emergency measures;

  • Carry out their professional activities in public or private healthcare facilities, either as employees or self-employed professionals;

  • Contribute to the training of support staff and actively participate in professional development and research related to their professional profile.
